I'm going to give the game a bit more time, but ultimately I'm finding that gameplay is just unrewarding. The amount of times I feel like I have a good deck with synergy only to meet a boss or elite encounter that will just hard counter and destroy whatever you were going for is frustrating. That, combined with decisions throughout the gameplay that will completely fuck you over without you knowing only adds salt in the wound. I understand a large part of roguelikes is going through run after run, but purposely obfuscating information in a roguelike to the point that you may not even understand the decision you're making unless you've made that decision before is stupid. The amount of time the game will essentially be like "I dunno, could be good could be bad aha" (legitimately, there are multiple decisions that boil down to exactly this) and you are forced to take them to even see what happens, possibly ruining a run that may have taken hours... just unfun. I've had this game dick me over with a smile on its face far more than I've felt like I've gotten any sort of upper hand. Maybe that is fun for some, but so far I can't say I'm having a great time with what feels like it should be a fun game. I just find myself wondering when the game gets good, when the fun actually starts, why its so popular, you know?
